Transforming insurance operations for efficiency and automation

While cooperating with an insurance company, the Duanex team revolutionized the entire insurance company workflow, from initial requests and health checks to claims processing and payments. In this project, we’ve transitioned from a monolithic system to a microservice to ensure agility and seamless integration with external services.

Challenge: revolutionizing insurance operations

Our insurance industry client faced us with a challenging task. We had to find solutions to streamline their operations, optimize efficiency, and reduce manual interventions in their insurance processes.

The entire insurance flow, starting from customer requests for health assessments and culminating in claims processing and payments, needed a significant overhaul. The challenges included:

Manual interventions: The existing processes depended on manual interventions, leading to delays, errors, and inefficiencies.

Extended processing time: The insurance issuance process took a lot of time to process, which often frustrated both customers and employees.

Resource dependency: Employees had to do routine tasks that could be automated. Our team developed solutions that allow skilled staff to focus on more critical aspects of the business.

Solution: embracing automation and microservices

Our team started developing transformative and efficient solutions to address these challenges, changing how our client’s company operated. We provided our client with wide-ranging solutions, including process and service improvements, technology updates, simplified integrations with external services, etc. The primary solutions included:

– Automation: Our experts identified areas in the flow where automation should be implemented effectively. To achieve this, we automated data collection, underwrote policy, improved claims verification and payment processing.

-Micro-services architecture: Transition from a monolithic architecture to a micro-services-based approach enhanced agility and adaptability. It allowed us to proceed with external changes more swiftly and simplify integrations with external services.

– Product modernization: We not only introduced new products but also modernized existing ones to align them with the company’s new vision and micro-services architecture.

Implementation: a systematic approach

Our experts started with assessing the existing infrastructure, processes, and pain points. It helps us to develop a comprehensive strategy, identifying areas that could benefit the most from reduced manual interventions. The transition from a monolithic to a microservices architecture was performed with careful planning, ensuring minimal disruptions and optimal performance. Automation significantly reduced the chances of errors and inconsistencies in insurance processes, leading to greater accuracy and customer satisfaction.

Duanex team was actively engaged in both development and DevOps work, handling the development of new products, supporting legacy systems, and modernizing existing infrastructure.

Rigorous testing and quality assurance processes were implemented to ensure that the new systems and automated processes operated seamlessly and with utmost reliability.

Outcomes: transformed insurance workflow

The results of our collaboration were nothing short of remarkable. Our partnership with the insurance company continues to evolve. We are committed to the continuous improvement of their insurance operations. We are not only maintaining the systems we’ve put in place but also identifying new areas for automation and enhancement. Thanks to our solutions, client’s employees are no longer burdened with routine, time-consuming tasks, allowing them to focus on more complex and value-added activities.

The shift to a microservices architecture made the company more adaptable to market changes and external integrations, which helped the owner to remain competitive in a dynamic industry.
